Gallery Walk

Held the first Friday of every month since 1989 in its scenic and historic downtown, Hot Springs’ monthly Gallery Walk features the opening of new art exhibitions showcased in downtown fine art galleries and studio spaces. From contemporary to traditional, the diverse offerings of Gallery Walk arts and cultural scene place Hot Springs as the place to be the first Friday of each month.
 
The following galleries will be open for Gallery Walk on Friday, April 5.

Justus Fine Art Gallery – 827 A Central Avenue

The April Exhibit entitled “Celestial Skies” at Justus Fine Art Gallery will focus on work that contains celestial elements–sun, moon, stars, and even an eclipse. The show will feature a selection of new paintings by Matthew Hasty, which capture dramatic effects of sunlight and moonlight in his luminous Southern landscapes. Work by Michael Ashley, George Chambers, Randall Good, Robyn Horn, John Lasater, Sandra Sell, Kathryn Sixbey, Gene Sparling, Elizabeth Weber, and others, will also be showcased. The opening reception will be held from 5-9 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024 as part of the monthly Gallery Walk in downtown Hot Springs. Matthew Hasty will be present for the opening reception to discuss his work with attendees. Exhibit dates: April 5-30, 2024.

Legacy Fine Art Gallery – 804 Central Avenue

Legacy Fine Art Gallery features an ever-changing variety of artwork by regional and internationally known artists, such as new work by Patrick Cunningham, Fidel Garcia, Carole Katchen, Vangelis, Eva, Americo and AB Makk, Elizabeth Weber, Boban, and Jim Pescott to name a few!

Rebecca Peterman Photography – 801 Central Avenue, Suite 30

The photographic art of Rebecca Peterman includes architectural photos of downtown Hot Springs and the premiere of her 50/Fifty Series of portrait stories of women over 50 and the ways they transform as they age. 

American Art Gallery – 724 Central Avenue

Features gallery artists Jimmy Leach, Ellen Schumacher, Susan H Washington, Carole Beam. Ernie Bolieu and his Southwest Jewelry and Valerie Hanks-Goetz with her pottery will be present for Gallery Walk.

DeSoto Rock & Gift Shop – 626 Central Avenue

You will find more than rocks at DeSoto Rock & Gift Shop, which has recently expanded to include some of Hot Springs’ most gifted artists. Art, décor, jewelry, and an expansive collection of gems and minerals from around the world wait to greet you at the Gallery.

Collective Arts Gallery – 620 Central Ave Suite 2B

Join the 60 local artists of Collective Arts Gallery.

On Friday April 5th the Western Region of Arkansas Art Educators is hosting an exhibition of student artwork on the second floor of 620 Central Avenue across the hall from the Collective Arts Gallery during the monthly gallery walk from 5 PM until 9 PM.

Students from Atkins, Caddo Academy, Hot Springs, Lake Hamilton, Lakeside, and Mount Ida schools are participating. The exhibition will be open on the same schedule as Collective through Saturday the 13th.

Artists’ Workshop Gallery – 610A Central Avenue

Be sure to stop in and meet our April featured Artist’s Terry Baumgartner and Sheliah Halderman. Our April mini-painting featured Artist Linda Shearer and Jennifer Wheeler Peterson.

All Things Arkansas – 610 Central Avenue

Features products from Arkansas, made in Arkansas, and related to Arkansas. Open for Gallery Walk with one-of-a-kind local treasures.

Wrapped Gift Boutique – 404 Central Avenue

Features the work of local artists Allison Parsons and Riley Art Glass. In addition to the stunning works of local artists, Wrapped has the perfect gift for any occasion.

Aqua – 340 Central Avenue

Located adjacent to the beautiful and historic Waters Hotel. Agua is the sister store to Wrapped and Downtown Hot Springs’ newest shop. Aqua features the iconic Angels by Lori Arnold, as well as art by Allison Parsons and Riley Art Glass.

Circle Gallery at Emergent Arts – 341 A Whittington Avenue

ASMSA Junior/Senior juried exhibition. Juried by artist Richard Stephens, Junior and Senior art students are displaying their work during April Gallery Walk. 

Dryden Pottery – 341 Whittington Avenue

A culmination of over 75 years of research and development. Third Generation Owned and Operated, in-house formulated glazes and custom-blended clay combine to create a finished quality easily recognizable as “Dryden.” Our showroom is also full of one-of-a-kind original Dryden pottery that is available for sale! Vapor Valley Gallery and Studio – 121 Grove Street

One of Hot Springs’ newest gallery spaces is joining Gallery Walk this April. Located just off Malvern Ave. in the historic Gateway Community, Vapor Valley features over 30 artists.  

Electric Strawberry – 500 W Grand Avenue

Come watch artist Hannah Ford live paint during Gallery Walk! Salty sessions are $5 off during Gallery Walk and the patio is open, weather permitting.
