5403 USA

I like serial imagery. U.S.A. is an image of my refrigerator in Hot Springs, picturing magnets from the many places I visited in the United States over the years. They remind me how lucky I am to have been to so many wonderful places. And together, they look really cool!

5409 Quapaw Life

The “Quapaw Life” series is an artistic project focused on the vibrant town of Hot Springs that has always intrigued me! My Vapor Valley works employ a whimsical look at a town I love. This series explores the Quapaw-Prospect Historic District neighborhood.

5410 Early bird gets the worm

Early bird gets the worm has gone through many transformations from space alien to early bird dipicted with bright colors.

5413 June’s Garden

Hot Springs offers many visual gifts to our eyes, but perhaps the most eloquent statement made by our national park is the dramatic combination of an enchanting mist of steamy water falling through the trees and the rock in Arlington Park. It’s a magic of its own offering a sense of an older and wilder time.

5412 Liberty

Liberty is a photograph of the front of a Mardi Gras float in the Krewe of Mid-City in 2024. The parade theme, Cheers to 90 Years, lent itself to this ode to America with the re-creation of several iconic images. By saturating the colors, the statue really pops out!

5415 Sugar-Pop

Sugar-Pop is what American Pop Art is all about. It’s bold, bright, accessable & totally unconventional. It’s pure fun.

5416 American Icon

The Bison is a symbol of American and Native American culture and perseverance. It is important as artist for us to help conserve our natural resources.

5418 Et Toi!

A vital part of Louisiana’s cultural heritage, Zydeco music was created in the southwest part of the state by combining French, African, and Caribbean rhythms into something as uniquely American as the blues. Its centerpiece is the accordion, playing a gumbo of sounds that make it impossible not to dance to.

5419 Freedom of Expression

America has a Long history of shared public spaces where we can gather and enjoy the outdoors and relax. It was fun capturing images of these children playing in the water of this Noguchi fountain on a warm summers day.

5420 Morning in Motion Along Bathhouse Row

In this watercolor, I reflected the vibrant rhythm of our downtown and the enduring beauty of Historic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs National Park. I painted the piece through layered transparent washes, allowing light to surface gradually, using controlled edges and selective detail to capture locals and visitors enjoying the walk, the architecture, and the pace of the morning.

5421 Gathering Light: Anthony Chapel

In this watercolor painting of Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens, I focused on capturing light as it moves through the amazing architecture, revealing exceptional craftsmanship and respect for the surrounding landscape. Set within a forested setting, the chapel represents to me the American spirit of gathering and community.

There is something about crisp, clear mountain air. Everything things sharper and to have more color. This is a raw photo – nature did all the editing for us.

Showing love to our fellow man or performing an act of kindness can create a ripple effect to change our communities, country and world for the better. Will “We the People” each do our part?

5430 Luxury and Decay

This piece resonates with me as a working class American. The hardships of the working class grow larger yet more forgotten while our leaders are shaking hands with corporate oligarchs in a system propped up by the same working class that it exploits “It’s a little too ironic” as Alanis Morrissette sings.

5431 NATIVE

I don’t capture what my eyes see. I capture what my imagination sees or what I feel when I look at a scene or setting. I then interpret or translate that into something we call a photograph.

5432 Brooklyn Meets Kansas

5433 Living World

This sculpture is made from a giant Ash tree that grew on the Hot Spring, Garland county line, on my farm near Hot Springs, Arkansas. The black lines and shapes are made by decay organisms as they decompose the wood. Simply put, the lines serve as a barrier or a deterrent to other organisms from entering that part of the wood. Each shape, defined by the black lines, is the territory of a separate organism. The lines suggest coastlines and geological forms of the earth. It illustrates the inherent beauty of the natural world which surrounds us, even when we are unaware or oblivious to its presence.

5434 Tempest

This piece was made from a Holly tree that grew at the corner of Malvern Avenue and Convention Boulevard in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Its twisted and convoluted trunk, full of voids, protrusions and inclusions is witness to the resilience and beauty of the natural world. The tree witnessed decades of history of Hot Springs. It was removed to allow for the repatriation of the Humane Fountain to its original location, from 1909.

5435 A Traveler’s Dream

In A Traveler’s Dream, the performer, accordion, and canvas tent move as one breathing body. The accordion expands and contracts like lungs, echoing the rise and fall of the canvas as the circus travels from place to place. Both performer and tent live in constant motion—erected, dismantled, carried onward—never meant to remain. Each stop is brief and luminous, unfolding like a dream before dissolving again. The observer stands within this momentary world, sharing in its fragile breath, aware that what is witnessed exists only now, and only here.

5449 It’s Not Over Yet

The flag is weathered and torn like our country is beaten and divided. The blood is the blood being shed in our country and by our country. The colours fading away is the loss of community in America, the loss of ourselves. The Field of blue is full of storm clouds and the light shinning through symbolizes that the storm will pass.

5468 Boundless

What would it be like to be a bird? Boundless! I’d have a summer and a winter home. I’d fly with my friends, no baggage, when the weather started changing. I’d see all the sights.
