Description:

Writer/Artist Tanja Wooten will be presenting development tips and examples of various production methods to provide incentive for anyone interested in creating their own independent comics or graphic novels. Teens and adults will learn the art and story of developing an independent graphic novel.
Currently developing independent comics and graphic novels as writer/artist, Tanja Wooten is an award-winning illustrator and contributor to the 2012 Harvey-nominated independent comic anthology, Womanthology: Heroic (with writer Kimberly Komatsu) and Womanthology: Space (with writer Sandy King Carpenter). A member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), her previous creative roles (both in-house and freelance) include multi-media animator and book illustrator for k-12 educational projects, UI software designer and consultant, commercial storyboard artist, animation studio intern, as well as concept artist of licensed and original products for the development of toys and holiday décor. Her newest comic serial is Caution: Dragons! Her independent graphic novel, Dreamer of Dragons, v01 will be forthcoming in Fall 2019.
