Art Springs is held at Hill Wheatley Plaza and the adjacent Entertainment District on Malvern Avenue between Bridge Street and Spring Street in historic downtown Hot Springs and is open from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 10am to 4pm

The Art Springs Stage will feature favorite local artists such as Jacob Flores, Christine DeMeo, and Big Pappa Binns though out the two days, as well as the final round of the Glover Awards for Songwriting with a special performance from acclaimed songwriter, Steve Dean on Sunday.

The Art Interactive area of the event includes Chalk Walk, Crystal Bridges Mobile Art Lab, Under Pressure steamroller printing event, the Hot Springs Renaissance Faire, a free children’s book giveaway, a graffiti wall, workshops and demos, local authors, and tons of arts and crafts.

Bring your appetite, as there will be plenty of food and drinks to purchase from some of Arkansas’ best food trucks.

Arts Springs partners with Emergent Arts, Garland County Library, Hot Springs Renaissance Faire, Theta Pi Sorority, and more. Programming is funded, in part, through grants from the Arkansas Arts Council, Arkansas Community Foundation, and Elisabeth Wagner Foundation.

Art Interactive Events:

Entertainment District – Malvern Avenue
Saturday, April 26, 10 am – 6 pm

Crystal Bridges Mobile Art Lab
A special 2-day set-up through the generosity of Crystal Bridges.
The art lab will feature lots of artistic activity and hands-on demos from some Hot Spring’s legends.
Saturday 2 pm – 6 pm
Sunday 12 pm – 4 pm

Hot Springs Renaissanc Faire
A sampling of the Hot Springs Renaissance Faire will bring merriment and interactive events, including sword fighting and Renaissance painting.

Kids Book Giveaway
Free Books! Sponsored by Theta Pi Sorority and a grant from the Arkansas Community Foundation, HSACA offers free children’s books to Art Springs visitors.

Under Pressure
Sunday 12 pm – Until all prints are made
Block printing down Spring Street using a 2-ton steamroller! The inclement weather location is in the parking garage at 324 Malvern Ave., enter from Broadway St.

Starstuff Studio with Lanie Carlson
Sunday 12 pm – 3 pm

Interactive Story Time
where kids will create, play, and share their imagination with a final performance on stage.

Craft Tent
Saturday April 26, 11 am – 4 pm
Sunday April 27, Noon – 4 pm
Presented by the Garland County Libray and Emergent Arts, enjoy free arts and crafts with a new activity hourly.

Local Author Day
Previously held at the Garland County Library, visit the local author tent to meet some of Hot Spring’s local writers. Authors will be sorted by genre and rotate every 90 minutes. Visit HotSpringsArts.Org for author lineup and timetable and GarlandCountyLibrary.org for additional info.

Grafitti Wall
A fan favorite presented by Cutwell 4 Kids, visitors are invited to let out their inner child and write on the walls.

Saturday
Noon – Donna Dunnahoe/ learn to spin on a drop spindle and make your own yarn
1:30pm – Holly Siemert/ All Things Fiber workshop
3:00pm – Aiyana Isabella/ Alluring Decay Artistry/ collaborative art 3D art piece with materials ethically sourced from nature
4:30pm – Rose Guzman/ Every Daisies/ Interactive art projects with a storytelling element (paint/ art & crafts)

Sunday
10:30am – Amanda Mitchell/ Ashtanga Yoga (led primary series) with Sanskrit chanting and counting
Noon: Inge Rogers/ teaching and performing belly and gypsy dance?
1:30pm – Jan Briggs/ Artist paint workshop
3:00pm – Sarah E./ SAILS garden projects with recycled materials
