ARTIST BIO
Donna works and lives at her studio in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to which she was drawn, inspired, by the natural beauty of the forest and the historical architecture of the area. She lived in Southern California until 2006 when she moved to Arkansas. Nature in its various environments – coastal, desert, and mountains – have inspired her creative development.
Donna Dunnahoe is a fiber artist who was first introduced to California Native American baskets as a child when her parents were given artifacts left in an old farm shed in Orange County. The collection also included samples of Native American pottery. The texture of the basket fibers and the play of shadow and light on the pottery inspired her imagination.
The basic skills in weaving and ceramics were acquired while Donna attended California State University at Fullerton. In 1977 she received a B.A. in Art Education and, in 1978, a California multi-subject teaching credential. She used her art skills while engaged in her various caree
