Studios Tours – Listing

Studios will be open from 10am – 4pm
Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4

Held the second weekend of Arts & The Park, Studio Tours is a free self-guided tour of local artist studios. It offers a glimpse into the creative space of some of the areas most well-known artists. 
Stop by Visitor Information Center at 629 Central Avenue to pick up a program which contains a map to all of the open studios and then hit the road. Programs will also be available in galleries during Gallery Walk on Friday evening.

Jeri Hillis Studio

 

Description:

In the studio and home of artist Jeri Hillis, you will discover fine art among a cabinet of curiosities. Jeri is a professional working artist and teaching artist, working in multiple mediums. Her present work in ceramics is a contemporary reflection on ancient Effigy Pottery. Part of the Hot Springs arts community for 20 years, Jeri was the 2022 Artist-in-Residence for the Hot Springs National Park Service.

Jeri was selected for the 2010 Delta Exhibition at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock and exhibited her architectural paintings at the Historic Arkansas Museum’s Trinity Gallery in 2009. She received her BA from Hampshire College, Amherst, MA and continued printmaking studies at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Bloomfield Hills, MI.  

Jeri is a Teaching Artist-in-Education with Arkansas Arts Council and works with Arkansas Learning Through the Arts with Pottery Residencies throughout the Hot Springs School District and Central Arkansas presenting pottery and visual art residencies to local schools.

She regularly teaches pottery classes at National Park College Continuing Education; Adult Wheel Throwing pottery and hand building with Youth and Teens, as well as various visual arts classes at Emergent Arts. Recently Jeri became an Adjunct Professor at National Park College teaching Painting I and 3-D Design.

Jeri is represented by Justus Fine Art Gallery in Hot Springs, where she has exhibited her paintings and mixed media artworks since 2018. Jeri displays her ceramics at The Collective Arts Gallery, above the post office in Hot Springs, AR.

Directions to Studio:

Travel north on Central Avenue to Park Avenue Highway 7 for 1-mile past fountain. Go left on Pullman Avenue, on the corner is the blue building of Red Light Roastery Coffeehouse, across from the Shell Gas Station. Proceed down Pullman to the second block of Pullman Avenue to number 125. Creamy yellow house set back from road, big front porch. Swing around in front of old church and park on street.
