Get your hands sticky in the kitchen. Cafe Kahlo offers a unique opportunity to learn from Chef Maria Mayen, who is inspired by traditional Mexican flavors. Participants will engage in a hands-on culinary experience, a sample entrée, dessert, and a cocktail are included.

Located at 919 Central Avenue, the event is designed for a small group, limited to 25 participants, ensuring an intimate and interactive learning atmosphere. Enjoy the experience of exploring Mexican cuisine!

They will discuss traditional rules of decorating and how to creatively break them, giving those in attendance a taste of how to be adventurous with design in their own homes! This is an inspired new addition to our event listing and has limited availability of 20.

Beginning Weaving

Learn to weave a mug rug on a rigid heddle loom. Fiber artist, Yasmin Martin, will teach basic weaving skills using this versatile simple loom. Loom and yarn provided. Students will take home a finished project, a rug to use with your favorite beverage in your favorite mug.

Making Yarn With A Drop Spindle

In this class you will have your first exposure to twisting wool fiber with a simple spinning tool called a drop spindle. Making your own yarn is an old tradition that continues even in these modern times. Fiber artist, Donna Dunnahoe, will instruct students on drafting and adding twist to wool helping them create a unique yarn that can be woven, knitted, or crochet.
The $25 class fee includes a drop spindle and fiber for the student to use in class and to take home so they can continue on their spinning journey.
Class is limited to 10 students, ages 13 years – adult.
